A new short film by Marvel on Disney’s latest cruise ship has Scott Lang, also known by his alias Ant-Man, finally explain why he didn’t kill Thanos by simply crawling up his butt. Fans have been demanding the character answer this ever since Avengers: Endgame came out two years ago.
The Disney Wish cruise line includes a Marvel-themed interactive dining attraction called Avengers: Quantum Encounter and Ant-Man, played by Paul Rudd and the Wasp, played by Evangeline Lilly appear in an introduction video as hosts to welcome fans to the attraction. Rudd addresses the question in character and we finally get an answer:
Before Rudd could give us an explanation as to why he refuses to crawl up Thanos’ butt, he gets cut off by Lily, who moves things along by saying that they don’t have enough time for that.

Now that Disney has actually acknowledged the joke, it is time to finally let it go. Plus, Thanos turned to dust in Endgame, so it’s not like the situation for Ant-Man to take action would arise again anyway. But we do know that Scott Lang actually has a reason why he couldn’t just kill Thanos in that way, so that’s something.
Ant-Man was last seen in Avengers: Endgame and will appear in his third movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which is set to release on February 17, 2023, in the United States. The movie was originally scheduled for a release on July 28, 2023, but it swapped dates with the Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels.
